Bacterial growth in the vagina may occur when the PH balance is disturbed. This can lead to a better environment for the bacteria and therefore a large growth can occur. Metronidazole contains the active substance of metronidazole, which acts by inhibiting enzyme synthesis in micro-organisms. This means that bacteria cannot develop and thus do not spread. The bacteria cannot survive and therefore, disappears and then the body can regain its natural balance.

Vi har bakterier överallt i vårt system. Det är bara när bakterierna växer ohämmat, eller när det kommer främmande bakterier i vårt system som det uppstår problem.
